    In this free, live workshop, we'll talk about practical strategies you can use to navigate disagreement, uncover the reasoning behind the team's position, and keep bringing the conversation back to your child's needs and the data.

    You'll learn how to:

    • Get clear on the need behind your request before you walk into the meeting

    • Ask questions that encourage the team to explain its reasoning, rather than getting stuck trading opposing opinions

    • Use tactical empathy to acknowledge the team's perspective without automatically agreeing with it

    • Respond strategically when you hear "no"

    • Separate the need from one particular solution so the team can problem-solve more effectively

    • Recognize when a compromise makes sense and when it doesn’t

    And we'll practice some of the actual language you can use when a meeting gets difficult, so you're not trying to find the right words while sitting at the IEP table.

    Effective advocacy is about asking better questions and listening closely to the answers.

    What does my child need, and what does the information we have tell us?
